Construction requirements for grounding of stainless steel cable tray

1. The bridge material of stainless steel cable tray should be constructed according to the design requirements. If the design does not have specific requirements, the following requirements should be followed.

 

a. Between galvanized cable trays, galvanized connecting plates can be used as jumper wires to connect the trays into one body. Galvanized spring washers are added to the two connecting bolts at both ends of the connecting plate.

 

b. The bridge frame painted and sprayed with plastics and other insulators should be bridged by soft copper wire.

 

The bolts used for the jumper should be galvanized, and the contact point between the jumper wire terminal and the bridge should be cleared of the insulating coating and coated with anti-rust conductive paste. Or entrust the manufacturer to weld copper washers on the cable trays to ensure reliable bridges between the cable trays.

 

c. The stainless steel cable tray passes through the deformation joint of the building and the straight section exceeds 30m. Where the compensation device is installed, the two ends of the bridge should be bridged by soft copper conductors, and there is a margin for expansion and contraction. For vibration locations, a spring coil should be installed at the connection of the grounding part.

 

2. If the design requires the bridge as a part of the grounding trunk, it is required to comply with the cable bridge installation specifications. The connection resistance at the joint should not be greater than 0.00033Ω. If the bridge connecting plate cannot meet this requirement, even the galvanized bridge should be bridged with soft copper wires that meet the design requirements.

 

3. The cable tray system should have a reliable electrical connection. From the beginning to the end of the cable tray, at least one place is reliably connected to the grounding trunk line. When laying another grounding trunk line along the entire length of the bridge, each section (including the non-straight section) of the bridge should be reliably connected to the grounding trunk at least at one point.

 

4. Between galvanized bridges, galvanized connecting plates can be used as jumpers to connect the bridges into a whole. Add galvanized spring washers on the two connecting bolts at both ends of the connecting plate, bridge the bridges with soft copper wires no less than 4mm2, and then connect the bridges with the grounding wire to form an electrical path. There should be no less than two connections between the whole bridge frame and the grounding trunk line.
